At this years SIHH watch-fair Vacheron Constantin introduced a new model of their popular Overseas collection and now also offers a rather practical watch for traveller’s that can be worn everyday. Up until now Vacheron Constantin fans who wanted to have a second time zone had to refer to the Overseas Worldtime, which is due to its 24 timezone display much more demanding then the new Overseas Dual Time.

The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual-Time in 41mm stainless steel case with a blue dial.

The new timepiece is not just optical more minimalistic, also its use is made very practical. The hours, minutes and seconds hands indicate the local time zone showing the traveller’s current location, while the hands with the triangular arrow shows the second time zone. This 12-hours display, adjustable via the crown in both directions, is complimented by a day/night indication set to home time, as well as pointer-type date display synchronised with the local time.

Day/night (AM/PM) indication at 9 o’clock, synchronised with home time. Date at 6 o’clock, synchronised with local time, set by pusher.

For its Overseas Dual Time Vacheron Constantin created a new in-house movement – Calibre 5110 DT. This 234-component movement with a 60-hour power reserve is housed in a 41 mm-diameter steel case that is water-resistant to 150 metres. A six-sided bezel indicates Vacheron Constantin’s famous Maltese Cross. An inner case ring makes the Overseas resistant to magnetism.

Powered by the new Caliber 5110 DT – developed and manufactured in-house by Vacheron Constantin with the regular traveler in mind.

The stainless steel version with deep blue dial features a comfort-adjustment strap system, which enables the wearer to switch their straps without any tools. Additionally to the stainless steel bracelet in Maltese Cross motif, it is delivered with an additional alligator leather and rubber straps matching the shade of the dial. Simple use at very high standards – each version is stamped with the Geneva seal, which guarantees that the movement meets extremely high standards. The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time is now available for sale, also at Bucherer in Munich
