George Daniels
George Daniels (1926–2011), a British watchmaker, is widely regarded as one of the greatest masters of modern horology. During his lifetime, he produced only around 30 watches, each of which was made entirely by hand with extraordinary care, making them among the most coveted collector's items in existence. His most significant contribution to watchmaking was the invention of the Co-Axial escapement, which is now produced on an industrial scale by Omega and is widely considered to be one of the most important horological innovations of the past 250 years. Daniels' watches, such as the Space Traveller's Watch and the Millennium, are distinguished by classical British aesthetics, hand-engraved dials, and the highest level of technical sophistication.
