Glashütte Original
The Saxon manufacture Glashütte Original traces its roots back to 1845, when the first watchmakers settled in the town of Glashütte. Following the German reunification, the modern brand was established in 1994 through the consolidation of former state-owned enterprises and has been part of the Swatch Group since 2000. Glashütte Original is renowned for its commitment to the rigorous precision of traditional German watchmaking, as evidenced by its use of three-quarter plates, screwed gold chatons, and hand-engraved balance cocks. Key models include the classic Senator collection with complications such as a perpetual calendar or moon phase display, the distinctive Pano series with its off-centre dial layout, and the SeaQ diver’s watch, which has its roots in the 1960s. Each timepiece combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary technology and is made in Germany.
