To mark its 185th anniversary, Jaeger-LeCoultre releases a new model. The new Reverso Tribute Tourbillon Duoface is a modern version of the Reverso Tribute, which brings together the flying tourbillon with the duoface concept. Equipped with the new manually wound calibre, Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 847, this timepiece is only available fifty times.

One watch, two faces

Following in the footsteps of the Hybris Mechanica 11 and Reverso Tribute Gyrotourbillon, this timepiece’s design is marked especially by its fine finishes. Technically the model is featured by the tourbillon’s moving carriage and its sprung balance. These features could be installed through the use of a ball-bearing system, which leaves space for the duoface concept and fully expresses itself on the back of the watch.

The watchmakers of the Grande Maison wanted to design a watch that offers two-time zones on two separate dials. To the designers of the manufacture the characteristic two distinct but inseparable faces of the ReversoTribute seemed to be the ideal design to house this complication. The design of the duoface has been completely revised, resulting in an entirely new layout so that all the various components can fit into the platinum case measuring only 9.15 millimetres. The result is two hand-fittings in a single movement brought together.

Timeless and modern

Designed with stylistic codes borrowed from Art Deco — the same that have characterised the Reverso since its creation in 1931 — this new piece pays homage to the original models.

The front side of the new model is adorned with a blue sunrayed dial, silvered hand-applied hour-markers and Dauphine hands. The flying tourbillon sways at six o’clock. The dial on the opposite side is a grained with Côtes de Genève finishes. It houses the second time zone, the small seconds indication and the day/night indicator at 2 o’clock. With a simple move of the finger, the wearer can switch between the watch’s two complimentary and diametrically faces. The front of the watch is deep blue. The opposite side, with a rough metal effect, is designed sober and streamlined. Both sides bear the same flying tourbillon, which’s lower portion is lodged within the platinum case, giving it a slightly rounded and curved shape.

Since its creation in 1931, the rectangular Reverso has always been known for its special system of flipping the case. Today it continues to be a source of inspiration for the watchmakers of the Grande Maison.

Bringing together the flying tourbillon and the duoface concept in one model for the very first time, Jaeger-LeCoultre might particularly please collectors with the new Reverso Tribute Tourbillon Duoface.
