Independent watchmaker Romain Gauthier founded his eponymous brand in 2005 in Le Sentier, in the Vallée de Joux. He is renowned for exceptional finishing, technological sophistication and the strongly architectural design of his movements. Gauthier combines traditional craftsmanship with innovative solutions, such as his proprietary lateral crown and specially engineered gear trains designed to improve efficiency. Among his best-known models are the Logical One, featuring a patented chain-and-fusée transmission for constant force; the Insight Micro-Rotor with a skeletonised dial and twin micro-rotors; and the Continuum, a sportier expression of his design DNA. Romain Gauthier embodies the spirit of modern independent haute horlogerie and is held in particularly high esteem by collectors.
