In 2017, a group of young entrepreneurs and watchmakers – Axel Leuenberger, Jérémy Freléchox, Thierry Fischer and Mehmet Koruturk – came together with a shared vision: to challenge the conventional limits of haute horlogerie by establishing the Swiss brand Vanguart. Based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the brand takes a modern approach characterised by complex complications, three-dimensional architecture, and unconventional displays. Its debut model, the Black Hole Tourbillon, attracted attention thanks to its three-dimensional construction: the movement is designed so that the tourbillon appears like a 'black hole' at the centre of the dial, while time is indicated via rotating discs. This timepiece combines traditional hand-finishing with a strikingly futuristic design. The second model, the Orb, features an openworked, skeletonised titanium case with a flying tourbillon.
