With the new collection of Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days watches, Panerai invites to an exploration into the blue of the sea, which’s colour is applied to the dial by a new manufacturing process.
The reflections of light which penetrate the depths of the sea create a chromatic spectacle which the new dial of the Radiomir 1940 3 Days tries to capture with its infinite shades and intensity by means of satiné soleil workmanship. Due to the use of various tones of blue, the dial is tinged in such a way that the outer part is a darker, more intense colour corresponding to the markers, which appear more legible, and lighter towards the centre.
The new Radiomir 1940 3 Days is available in five versions which are distinguished by size, materials and function. The Radiomir 1940 cushion case which unites all the models has a strong but minimalist linear design. It is available in AISI 316L steel in a diameter of 42 mm, 45 mm or 47 mm or in a red gold case with a diameter of 45 mm. On the back of the case of each example the movement can be seen through the sapphire glass, which is decorated with a swirling wave design created by a metallisation process.

All the five models of the Radiomir 1940 3 Days are fitted with a calibre made in-house by the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel. The model with automatic winding is available either in a version with hours, minutes and small seconds or in versions enhanced with other functions.
The two time-only models, in steel (Ref. PAM00933) or in red gold (Ref. PAM00934), use the P.4000 automatic calibre, which is marked by the use of an off-centre bidirectional microrotor, which is made of 22 carat gold in the gold version and tungsten in the steel one and enables a power reserve of up to three days to be stored.

As well there is a version fitted with the P.3000 calibre, with a power reserve of three days, which is self-winding. This model (Ref. PAM00932) is the largest with 47 mm in diameter. It has a classic minimalist design, with a lightly domed sapphire crystal protecting the dial.

The Radiomir 1940 3 Days models in steel are water-resistant to 10 bar, a depth of about 100 metres while the red gold model has a limit of 5 bar. All are fitted with a blue alligator strap, which harmonizes with the colour of the dial. Its contrasting beige sewing recalls the colour of the luminous substance used on the hour markers. Every model is supplied in a blue lacquered cherry wood box, inside which is a spare strap of blue rubber, or a blue fabric one for the 42 mm model.
It is such a thing with time. If you would travel through the universe with the speed of light and return to earth after a few years, you would have aged less then the people living on the planet earth. Surely such a flying object is not realistic, but since the rapid development of Aviation…
