To mark the 175th anniversary of the company A. Lange & Söhne, the company is introducing its “Homage to F.A. Lange” anniversary collection, consisting of the 1815 Thin Honeygold, the Tourbograph Perpetual Honeygold and the A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold. The latter focuses on the Rattrapante complication, is limited to 100 pieces, and is only available in the brand’s boutiques.
The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold is housed in a 41.2 mm Honeygold case. This alloy is an in-house creation by the brand and is characterised by its hardness, as well as its warm tone and shine. The black dial is made of solid silver and contrasts with the golden, slightly raised numerals and the tachymeter scale.
However, the focus is on the drag pointer chronograph complication. The 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold is the first watch from A. Lange with a split-seconds chronograph as its only complication. The mechanism allows for the measurement of intermediate times within a running time measurement. The rattrapante or split-seconds hand made of rhodium-plated steel simultaneously starts with the gold-plated chronograph hand when the pusher at two o’clock is pushed. The rattrapante hand can then be stopped independently of the main hand and then synchronised again with the latter.
Inside the A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold is the manufacture calibre L101.2, which consists of 365 parts, 36 jewels and 4 gold chatons. When fully wound (by hand), it offers a power reserve of 58 hours. The oscillating system consists of a shock-protected screw balance and a hairspring with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz). The chronograph is controlled by two column wheels, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.
The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold from the “Homage to F.A. Lange” anniversary collection is presented on a dark brown leather strap with an 18-carat Honeygold pin buckle. The watch is limited to 100 pieces and is available as a special boutique edition only in the company’s own shops at a price of 130,000 euros.
