Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Orange Sapphire, Carbon & Black Magic
At LVMH Watch Week 2021 Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe presented three new models, which go by the name of Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic. They offer not only a tourbillon, but also automatic winding by microrotor. There is a choice of ceramic, carbon or orange sapphire crystal case. All three variants appear in strictly limited editions.
Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic with ceramic, carbon or sapphire case
All three new models have the same dimensions: the diameter is 45 mm, the height is 15.30 mm. However, they differ fundamentally in materials. The Black Magic has a case made of black ceramic. The Carbon is housed in a case made of Hublot’s own Texalium, a lightweight material that combines carbon fiber and aluminum. The highlight of the collection – the Orange Sapphire – has a case made of tinted sapphire.
Sapphire crystal dial
The Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic has a sapphire crystal dial, which gives a clear view of the mechanics. Around the dial there is a minute ring. The large numerals, indices and hands are covered with luminous material to improve readability. On the Orange Sapphire model, however, these are colored orange to match the case.
The movement inside the Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic
Hublot equips the timepieces with the all-new HUB6035 caliber, developed and manufactured entirely by the Manufacture. It offers both a tourbillon and automatic winding. Hublot installs a micro-rotor made of white gold, which is clearly visible at 12 o’clock. The tourbillon is located at 6 o’clock. The movements of the rotor thus mirror the rotation of the tourbillon. In addition, this arrangement provides visual balance on the dial.
The maximum power reserve is 72 hours. The tourbillon makes one revolution per minute, while the balance wheel inside sets the beat with a frequency of 3 Hz. In total, the movement consists of 243 components and 26 rubies. Built-in are three bridges made of sapphire, as well as others made of sandblasted platinum.
Straps, availability and price
All three models are equipped with a patented One-Click system for quick strap replacement.
The Hublot Tourbillon Automatic Black Magic 45 mm comes with a bracelet made of black rubber and a folding clasp made of black ceramic and titanium. The model is limited to 100 pieces and is available for a price of 93,500 euros.
