Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa Carbotech: 24-Hour Special Edition Celebrates The Luna Rossa Sailing Team
As a long-standing partner of the Italian sailing team Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, Panerai is presenting the Luminor Luna Rossa Carbotech. The special edition is being released on the occasion of the 37th America’s Cup. The watch is only available for 24 hours and there are only 37 pieces. The case comes in the company’s own Carbotech – a mix of carbon with polymers. Meanwhile, the dial references the sailing team with its blue colour, lettering and a red hand. There is also a special strap showcasing a red strip and the Luna Rossa lettering.
The case is of the patented material Carbotech. It differs from conventional carbon fibre by the addition of a polymer. This makes the enclosure stronger and more durable. The diameter is 44 mm. The typical crown protection bridge of the brand also makes an appearance. The case back is solid titanium and bears engravings. The water resistance is 300 metres.
The blue dial in sandwich structure showcases a sunray brush. The “Luna Rossa” lettering at 6 o’clock refers to the co-operation partner. Both the black hands and the recessed indices carry fluorescent material. The small seconds at 9 o’clock recalls the colours of the Luna Rossa sailing team. Here, the red hand rests on a snailed grey sub-dial. We also have a date window.
The Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa Carbotech is powered by the in-house P.9010 calibre, which offers automatic winding and a power reserve of 72 hours. The Glucydur balance works at a frequency of 4 hertz and sits in an Incabloc shock protection system. The 200 components remain concealed behind the solid case back.

The PAM01529 appears on a blue strap composed of rubber and textile. The red centre stripe carries the inscription „Luna Rossa“. A trapezoidal clasp made of titanium with a black DLC coating secures the strap to the wrist. The special edition will be available for 24 hours on 30 November 2023. The watch launches as a limited edition of 37 pieces. The price is 16.500 euros.
