It’s been another extraordinary year for the watch world. That’s why the Swisswatches team sat down once more to compile a list of our top watches from 2025.
After more than 15 years as a designer for global brands such as Porsche and Ducati, and as Chief Product Officer at Breitling, Sylvain Berneron founded his own brand in Neuchâtel in 2022. With his own atelier, Berneron deliberately sought greater creative freedom and established a manufacture based on établissage: the components come from selected Swiss suppliers, but conception, design, construction, development, assembly and customer service are carried out entirely in-house. The brand sells exclusively and directly to collectors and keeps its production volumes intentionally low. Berneron is currently developing four collections, two of which have already been launched. The starting point of his work is the Mirage calibre 233, an asymmetrical movement that required two years of development and was constructed around a reimagined gear-train layout. Notable features include guilloché bridges made of white gold – a choice unique within the industry – as well as mainplates crafted from gold. The calibre made its debut in the Mirage 38, whose asymmetrical case is inspired by the curves of the Fibonacci spiral. The hands, dial design, and typography also follow this organic, sculptural approach. The Mirage collection was introduced in 2023 as an avant-garde series of dress watches and is now fully booked until 2028. In addition to the Mirage 38, it includes the Mirage 34, available with handcrafted stone dials such as tiger’s eye or lapis lazuli. As the second pillar, the Quantième Annuelle followed in 2025, an annual calendar with two corrector pushers, a double barrel, and a jumping-hour display.
