The Dresden-based manufacture Lang & Heyne was founded by watchmakers Marco Lang and Mirko Heyne in 2001. However, the latter left the company shortly afterwards. Since 2019, Lang & Heyne has operated independently, focusing on contemporary interpretations of Saxon watchmaking at the highest artisanal level. In Dresden, Lang & Heyne produces almost all components by hand in very small quantities, ensuring that each watch is a unique horological masterpiece. The collections often bear the names of Saxon rulers. Examples include the Friedrich August, which exudes classical elegance; the Anton, which features a distinctive rectangular case and tourbillon; and the Hektor Edition II, which combines traditional mechanics with modern clarity through its ‘petticoat’ motif and the use of German silver. The hand-engraved balance cocks and exquisitely crafted enamel dials are particularly characteristic.
