Nivada Grenchen
From the 1950s to the 1970s, the Swiss brand Nivada Grenchen, founded in 1926, gained widespread recognition for its robust sports watches and tool watches. Like many brands, it disappeared from the market for several decades following the quartz crisis, before being revived in 2018 by Guillaume Laidet and Rémi Chabrat. Its heritage models have since become particularly popular with collectors. Famous designs include the Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver, one of the most versatile tool watches of its era; the Antarctic, worn by expedition researchers; and the Depthmaster, an early diver’s watch with exceptional water resistance. Modern re-editions combine vintage charm with contemporary reliability.
