Rolex

Geneva, Switzerland

One of the world’s most recognisable watch brands, Rolex is a symbol of precision, durability, and prestige. Founded in London in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf, it has been headquartered in Geneva since 1919. The company has played a pivotal role in technical innovation, introducing the world’s first waterproof wristwatch, the Oyster, in 1926, followed in 1931 by the automatic winding system with a rotating rotor, which is now an industry standard. Iconic models in the brand's portfolio include the Submariner, launched in 1953 as the world's first professional dive watch with a water resistance of up to 100 metres; the Daytona chronograph, closely associated with motorsport; and the Datejust and Day-Date, renowned for their date and day displays. The GMT-Master, designed for pilots and frequent travellers, is another enduring icon. Rolex uses premium materials such as Oystersteel, 18-carat gold, Rolesor combinations, and proprietary alloys like Everose gold. Some models feature bezels made from scratch-resistant ceramic.
