Chopard Alpine Eagle Summit: Four New Eagles With Gemstones
Chopard is presenting four new additions to the Alpine Eagle collection. With their harmonious colours, the four Chopard Alpine Eagle Summit watches are reminiscent of Alpine Switzerland. The bezels feature a variety of gemstones that evoke the mountain environment with gentle gradients. The four different versions come in yellow, white or rose gold and measure 41 mm in diameter. While three dial colours are familiar, “Zinal blue” is a bold newcomer to the collection.
The Four Variants
Firstly, The Alpine Eagle Summit in yellow gold has a dial in the colour “Golden Peak“, named after the golden colour of a mountain range in the Mont Blanc massif. Two new models have a white gold case. One is in “Zinal blue“, inspired by the blue and violet reflections of the Zinal glacier in the heart of the Swiss Alps. The other has a dial in “Vals grey“, reminiscent of the silvery quartzite found in the canton of Graubünden. Lastly, the fourth model is in rose gold and has a dial in “Pink Dawn“, evoking the sunrise in the mountains.
Cases in Ethical Gold
The cases are made from either yellow, white or rose gold. Because the manufacture has oversight of the entire precious metal supply chain, it enforces compliance with ethical standards in the notoriously unsustainable industry. The cases measure 41 mm in diameter and 9.7 mm in height. On the reverse, the sapphire case back allows for a view of the inside. All versions are water-resistant to 100 metres. The satinised surfaces are only interrupted by the polished edges. There is also a bezel with eight functional screws. The baguette-cut gemstones, which differ depending on the model, showcase their colours here.
The bezel of the Chopard Alpine Eagle Summit, whose dial gleams in “Golden Peak“, is adorned with pink and white sapphires. The “Zinal blue” version features sapphires in shades of blue and violet. The model in “Vals grey“, on the other hand, has tsavorites in soft nuances of green. For the watch with the dial in “Pink Dawn“, the vivid orange colour of spessartines was chosen.
The Dials
The dials bear the ray motif inspired by the iris of an eagle. A PVD process yields the colours “Golden Peak“, “Zinal Blue“, “Vals Grey” or “Pink Dawn“. All have applied Roman numerals and baguette indices. The time is indicated by luminous main hands. There is also a second hand, which features a clever detail with a counterweight in the form of a feather.
The Movement of The Chopard Alpine Eagle Summit
Inside is the Chopard 01.15-C calibre with automatic winding. It offers a power reserve of 60 hours and operates at a frequency of 4 hertz. The movement holds the COSC chronometer certificate, which guarantees an accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day.
The Chopard Alpine Eagle Summit have integrated bracelets made of case material. The bands feature a polished centre bar that contrasts with the satin-finished flanks. The price for the watches is 92.600 euros for the yellow and white gold cases. The “Pink Dawn” however comes in at a cheaper 84.200 euros.
