Montblanc has added three new pieces to its Heritage collection, including the 18-carat rose-gold Heritage Manufacture Pulsograph Limited Edition 100 with a ‘smoked-tobacco’ brown dial. The vintage-looking wristwatch evokes the brand’s Minerva watches that were produced in the 1940s and 1950s, featuring a domed box-shaped sapphire crystal.
Initially launched showcasing a salmon-coloured dial and stainless-steel case, the watch is also now available in a 40mm 18-carat rose-gold case with a lacquered sunray dial with a grainé hour ring. It is presented on a brown Sfumato alligator strap (Sfumato is a painting technique which softens the transition between colour shades for the human eye).
As made evident by the inclusion of a pulsometer scale, the Heritage Pulsograph Limited Edition 100 was inspired by what collectors call ‘doctor’s watches’, once used to measure a patient’s heart rate.
The watch’s calibre MB M13.21 offers a 55-hour power reserve and features rose-gold coated plates, bridges, and a hand-wound lateral clutch. The movement can be viewed through the caseback. Also coated in rose-gold are the luminescent Arabic numerals and dot indexes, luminescent dauphine hour and minute hands, and baton-shaped hands for the seconds and the chronograph indications. The chronograph watch showcases old-school payphone style indications of 3, 6 and 9 minutes on the chronograph’s minutes counter.
The Heritage Manufacture Pulsograph Limited Edition 100 is water-resistant to 50m and is priced at 36,900 euros.
