The new OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black comes with a black ceramic case and dial. Unlike the ceramic-titanium version of the Diver 300M, OMEGA does not use titanium here, but relies solely on ceramic. OMEGA produces the dial from a single piece of ceramic, using a laser to define the details layer by layer. The watch is worn on a matching black rubber strap, which complements its all-black look.
Black ceramic case
The 43.5 mm case of the Diver 300M Black Black is black ceramic. OMEGA remains true to the original design, alternating between polished and brushed surfaces. In addition, the crown and helium valve at 10 o’clock are also ceramic. Meanwhile, the unidirectional ceramic bezel with graining features protruding numerals and a fluorescent dot at 12 o’clock. The model’s designation “Diver 300M“, as well as a reference to the water resistance of 300 m, adorn the caseback.
Black ceramic dial
The black ceramic dial showcases the collection’s typical wave pattern. However, here it stands out as a positive relief, rather than being carved into the dial. Furthermore, most of the details of the dial are cut from a piece of ceramic by laser ablation. The applied indices bear Super-LumiNova, as do the hands and the 12 o’clock point on the diver’s scale. In order to avoid jeopardising the purist appearance, the model does not feature a date window.
The Calibre 8806: Inside the Diver 300M Black Black
The in-house automatic calibre 8806 with Co-Axial escapement powers the new timepiece. It has a power reserve of 55 hours and bears the METAS certificate, which – among other things – guarantees high resistance to magnetic fields. On that note, it incorporates a free-sprung silicon balance spring. Last but not least, the movement’s decoration includes Côtes de Genève arabesques and several blackened components.
Last but not least, the watch comes on a black rubber strap, which operates using a matching ceramic pin buckle. The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black costs 8,800 euros.
