OMEGA is introducing another model as part of its collaboration with Orbis – a non-profit organisation that treats eye diseases in developing countries. The OMEGA Trésor Orbis-Edition is available with two different bezels and features the Orbis teddy bear, which every child treated by Orbis receives.
ORBIS is an international non-governmental organisation dedicated to treating eye diseases in developing countries. It operates an aircraft which functions as a flying eye clinic, and was founded in 1982 with the help of funds from the American government as well as private donors. OMEGA has supported the organisation since 2011 by giving a portion of proceeds from special models that celebrate its partnership with Orbis.
The new OMEGA Trésor Orbis-Edition
The new Trésor Orbis-Edition is housed in a 40 mm stainless-steel case and is available with either a polished or diamond-set bezel. The case corresponds to the OMEGA De Ville Trésor 40 mm, with its slim shape and extensive polishing. The watch is water-resistant to 3 bar or 30 m.
The deep blue gradient dial of the OMEGA Trésor Orbis-Edition is domed, as are the slim hands and indices. A date window lies at 6 o’clock, which, instead of showing the eighth day of the month, displays an Orbis teddy bear. The colour of the teddy bear is the same light blue as the seconds hand.
Inside the OMEGA Trésor Orbis-Edition ticks the in-house Co-Axial calibre 8511, which is manually wound and offers a power reserve of 60 hours. Although the movement is insensitive to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss, it is not METAS certified. Through the sapphire crystal caseback, the caliber 8511 can be observed at work. It is decorated with a balance bridge of 18-carat red gold and Côtes de Genève arabesques.
The OMEGA Trésor Orbis-Edition is presented on a blue leather strap with a polished pin buckle. The special watch box contains an Orbis teddy bear key ring as well as a certificate of authenticity. The special model is available now, both in boutiques and OMEGA’s online store. The polished bezel version costs 6,140 euros, while the diamond-set bezel is available for 11,210 euros.
