Panerai Luminor Goldtech Calendario Perpetuo: Horological Muscle Play
Panerai is presenting a new perpetual calendar in the form of the Luminor Goldtech Calendario Perpetuo. The watch is made of the in-house Goldtech alloy and has a translucent sapphire crystal dial. While the day and date are on the front, the other displays are on the back. The watch is a limited edition of 33 pieces. However, Panerai invites the lucky owners to Florence, where the history of the brand can be experienced first-hand.
The Case is of Goldtech
The Panerai Luminor Goldtech Calendario Perpetuo comes in the typical cushion-shaped Luminor case. Here it measures 44 mm in diameter and consists of Goldtech. The material is an alloy of 75% gold with copper and a little platinum, which gives the watch an intense hue and at the same time protects it from oxidation. The case is completely polished, except for the crown protection bridge and the back. The water resistance is 5 bar or 50 metres.
The Front of The Luminor Goldtech Calendario Perpetuo Reveals The Mechanics
The dial is a smoky sapphire crystal that reveals the discs of the day and date display. Two bold hands indicate the time with the help of applied indices and Arabic numerals. There is also a small seconds at 9 o’clock. All of them appear in gold and have luminous material. A blue GMT hand is also on board, complemented by a day/night indicator on the sub-dial at 9 o’clock. The day and date, meanwhile, are in gold-framed windows on the opposite side.
This Movement Makes The Perpetual Calendar Possible
Inside is the in-house calibre P.4100, which was already in the PAM00715 in Platinumtech. It enables the displays of the perpetual calendar, which are on the front and on the back. While the Luminor Goldtech Calendario Perpetuo indicates the day and date on the dial, the months, leap years, digital year indicator and power reserve indicator are visible through the sapphire crystal case back.
The Panerai Luminor Goldtech Calendario Perpetuo also offers a GMT function. Here, the blue hand can be set to a different time zone. In addition, there is a day/night indicator within the small seconds at 9 o’clock. Last but not least, the movement integrates a 22K microrotor that enables automatic winding. Furthermore, the two barrels ensure a maximum power autonomy of 3 days or 72 hours.
In order not to neglect comfort with all the functions, the Calendario Perpetuo allows the displays to be advanced at all times, i.e. even shortly before midnight or at the end of a month. Moreover, the watch does without any pushers on the case. Instead, the crown handles the setting of all functions. There is also a built-in stop-seconds mechanism that simultaneously resets the seconds to zero.
Price & Availability of The Panerai Luminor Goldtech Calendario Perpetuo
The watch appears on a black strap crafted from alligator leather. A Goldtech buckle secures the watch on the wrist. Panerai also includes another strap in black rubber. The manufacture invites all owners to Florence, where the history of the brand can be experienced first-hand. Furthermore, each watch comes with an NFT artwork that serves as a ticket to further experiences. The Panerai Luminor Goldtech Calendario Perpetuo is a limited edition of 33 pieces. The price: 80,000 euros.
