Glashütte Original PanoMaticInverse Dresden Limited Edition: Ode To The Saxon Capital
With the Glashütte Original PanoMaticInverse Dresden, the house honours the baroque city of Dresden, which has shaped German watchmaking to this day. With this timepiece, the inverted architecture of the movement – with the balance wheel on the dial side – serves as the backdrop for a hand-engraved view of the city’s landmarks. A large date complements the decentralised time display on a transparent disc. The platinum watch is a limited edition of 25 pieces.
Elegant And Slim Case Despite Complex Mechanics
The watch has a 42 mm platinum case. The matching height of 12.3 mm gives it an elegant appearance. The case also features satin-finished sides and polished lugs. The stepped and narrow bezel leaves plenty of breathing room for the dial. The crown is easy to operate thanks to its fluting and rounds off the look with its straight-forward aesthetics. The back also reveals the mechanics through a sapphire crystal back. Last but not least, the case is water-resistant to 5 bar or 50 metres.
Ode to The Saxon State Capital
The front of the Glashütte Original PanoMaticInverse Dresden features a hand-engraved panorama of the city on the brushed silver plate. It shows the roof of the Kunstakademie with the Fama statue. Behind it is the dome of the Frauenkirche with the so-called “lantern” at the top of the monumental building. On the back, the skeletonised rotor picks up on this shape and rotates around a view of the Elbe promenade. The sky above the city’s rooftops features not only birds and clouds, but also a small hot-air balloon. The off-centre dial is made of sapphire crystal, allowing the engravings underneath to make a grand appearance. Last but not least, the eye-catching balance wheel with its double suspension bears baroque engravings.
Movement
These distinctive mechanics are designated as Calibre 91-03 and offer a decentralised display of hours, minutes and small seconds as well as a large date. The balance oscillates at 4 hertz and is adjusted via a duplex swan-neck. The power reserve is 45 hours, with an automatic winding system providing fresh energy. The hand-engraved decorations complement polished steel parts, bevelled edges and blued screws.
