Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet – Automatic & Chronograph Automatic
The collection Code 11.59 was first presented in this year’s watch fair SIHH in Geneva. Part of the collection are the Automatic and the Chronograph Automatic, besides four other models.
The 41 mm case of the six new models is round. Inside there is an octagonal middle piece situated. The upper part of the openworked lugs is welded to the extra-thin bezel, while the lower part leans delicately against the caseback. The bezel, the lugs and the case are satin-brushed, bevelled and polished.

Very special about this new models is the double curved glareproofed sapphire crystal. The glass’s internal surface is shaped like a dome, while its external surface is vertically curved from 6 to 12 o’clock. Its shape idealy integrates the extra-thin bezel and extends from edge to edge. As well it highlights the detailed work on the dial.

The dial of this new model is lacquered in deep blue, white or black and gets highlighted by the white or pink gold case, an applied gold 3-D Audemars Piguet signature made in galvanic growth, as well as curved gold indexes and Arabic numerals.

This model is driven by a new selfwinding movement with a special 22 Karat gold weight. The 32 mm diameter mechanism beats with a frequency of 4 Hz.

The watch’s strap is directly integrated into the continuity of the openworked lugs and this way reveals the complex architecture of the case and its refined hand-finishing.

This model is available in four different versions: in rose gold with a white (Ref. 15210OR.OO.A099CR.01) or black (Ref. 15210OR.OO.A002CR.01) lacquered dial and a brown or black alligator leather strap or in white gold with a blue (Ref. 15210BC.OO.A321CR.01) or black (Ref. 15210BC.OO.A002CR.01) lacquered dial and a blue or black alligator leather strap. The power reserve of this model is 70 hours.

Code 11.59 Chronograph Selfwinding
The dial of the selfwinding chronograph is also lacquered in blue or black. The pink (blue dial: Ref. 26393OR.OO.A321CR.01; black dial: Ref. 26393OR.OO.A002CR.01) or white gold case (blue dial: Ref. 26393BC.OO.A321CR.01; black dial: Ref. 26393BC.OO.A002CR.01) echoes the polished gold curved indexes and singular numeral at 12 o’clock as well as the raised logo and long stick hands. The chronograph counters are circled by gold threads with polished V angles, a difficult finishing on lacquered dials.

The Code 11.59 Chronograph Selfwinding is powered by the manfacture calibre 4401, which is equipped with an instant-jump date indication, integrated column wheel chronograph and the flyback function that enables to restart the chronograph without stopping and resetting it first.

The 22-carat pink gold openworked oscillating weight is visible through the caseback. Also the movement has been adorned with a variety of refined finishing techniques including ‘traits tirés‘, diamond-polished angles, ‘Côtes de Genève‘, circular graining, chamfering and gold-toned engraving.
