Rolex is introducing four new versions of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 featuring new striking dial options. A lush palm motif that evokes tropical forests – and the fluted dial motif is inspired by the fluted bezels that is found on a range on Rolex watches. Three models are executed with the palm motif and a fourth version has a fluted motif.
Rolex’s Datejust was launched in 1945 and was the first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display the date in a window at 3 o’clock on the dial.
Four new Datejust models
The first execution reference 126200 with palm motif (6,550 euros) has a case and bracelet in Oystersteel and an olive-green dial. The second version reference 126233 appears in yellow Rolesor (combining Oystersteel and 18 ct yellow gold) fitted with an Oyster bracelet and golden dial (10,900 euros) . The third new Datejust 36 reference 126231 shines in Everose Rolesor (combining Oystersteel and 18 ct Everose gold) with a Jubilee bracelet (11,200 euros).
The dial of the final watch reference 126233 also in yellow Rolesor has a golden fluted motif and is worn on a Jubilee bracelet (10,300 euros). By the way, the five-piece link Jubilee bracelet was specially created for the launch of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust in 1945.
Movement Calibre 3235
The new Datejust 36 watches are powered by a powerful calibre 3235. It was entirely developed and manufactured in-house and first fitted on this model in 2018. Calibre 3235 incorporates the Chronergy escapement patented by Rolex, which combines high energy efficiency with great dependability. Made of nickel-phosphorus, it is also insensitive to magnetic fields. The movement is fitted with an optimized blue Parachrom hairspring, manufactured by Rolex in a paramagnetic alloy that makes it up to 10 times more precise than a traditional hairspring in case of shocks. The blue Parachrom hairspring is equipped with a Rolex overcoil, ensuring the calibre’s regularity in any position. The calibre 3235 offers a power reserve of 70 hours.
All new Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 executions are covered with the Superlative Chronometer certification – redefined by Rolex in 2015. The precision of a Rolex Superlative Chronometer is of the order of –2 /+2 seconds per day. The green seal that comes with every Rolex watch is coupled with an international five-year guarantee.
