On the occasion of the launch of the new Breitling Lady Premier, we spoke with Breitling's chief designer Pablo Widmer about the new dress watch for women.
The Swiss brand Breitling was founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling in Saint-Imier and quickly became a specialist in chronographs and precision instrument watches. Even in its early years, the company played a central role in the development of functional chronographs for science, industry, and aviation. Today, Breitling is considered one of the benchmarks for technical wristwatches that combine high practical utility with a sporty design. Among its best-known lines are the Navitimer, designed for pilots with its slide-rule bezel; the Superocean, a robust diver’s watch with high water resistance; and the Chronomat, which combines functionality with a distinctive design. Thanks to their precise engineering, durable construction and excellent legibility, Breitling watches have earned themselves a firm place among professional tool watches.
