Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Carbon SR_A by Samuel Ross: New Colourway in Blue
Hublot presents the Big Bang Tourbillon Carbon SR_A by Samuel Ross in a new colourway. The watch was unveiled during Miami Art Week and is the result of the collaboration with the artist and designer Samuel Ross. The timepiece features a 44 mm carbon case with a honeycomb pattern and a sapphire crystal dial. The movement is the HUB6035, which includes a self-winding micro-rotor and a skeleton tourbillon. Only 50 pieces will be produced, each with a specially designed collector’s box.
Case
The case of the Big Bang Tourbillon Carbon SR_A by Samuel Ross measures 44 mm in diameter and 13.75 mm in thickness. It is made of carbon with a honeycomb pattern in a new grey finish. The bezel has a two-tone finish, with a satin finish on the top and a shiny microblasted finish on the side. The flanks at 3 and 9 o’clock, as well as the bezel lugs, are made from frosted grey carbon. The water resistance of the watch is 30 bar, equivalent to 300 metres. This ensures that the watch is suitable for swimming and diving.
Dial
The dial of the Big Bang Tourbillon Carbon SR_A by Samuel Ross is made of sapphire crystal. It features hour markers and hands in two shades of blue, with the lighter shade also adorning the crown moulding. The hour markers at 4 and 7 o’clock are filled with dark blue SuperLuminova, while the marker at 9 o’clock is filled with light blue SuperLuminova. The dial also reveals the skeleton tourbillon at 6 o’clock, showcasing the intricate mechanics of the movement.
Movement
Powering the Big Bang Tourbillon Carbon SR_A by Samuel Ross is the Manufacture calibre HUB6035. This self-winding movement features a micro-rotor and a skeleton tourbillon. The tourbillon cage rotates once per minute and compensates for gravitational influences on the movement. The movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and has a power reserve of 72 hours. The movement consists of 264 components and 26 jewels. The movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back, allowing for an appreciation of the intricate mechanics.
Strap
The Big Bang Tourbillon Carbon SR_A by Samuel Ross comes with a dark blue rubber strap. The strap is perforated with the same honeycomb motif as the case and is equipped with a redesigned clasp. An additional black rubber strap is also included.
