Jaquet Droz is introducing the Grande Seconde Quantième 41 mm. Seven variations of the new watch are available: four of the editions have an 18-carat red-gold case with grand feu enamel dials in anthracite, ivory, burgundy, or deep blue.
Meanwhile, the other three editions are housed in a stainless-steel case and showcase a sandblasted titanium grey, matte black, or sandblasted silver dial.
Jaquet Droz’s Grande Seconde watches are inspired by 18th century pocket watches. As always, the new watches’ dials consist of two off-centre overlapping subdials, which form the shape of the number 8. Hours and minutes are displayed on the smaller subdial at 12 o’clock. Meanwhile, the larger subdial at 6 o’clock displays seconds. Additionally, this subdial displays the date and is easily legible thanks to the date pointer’s lacquered red tip.
The movement behind the Grande Seconde Quantième 41 mm is the self-winding mechanical Jaquet Droz 2660Q2 calibre, which is visible through the caseback. Furthermore, the caseback showcases a open-worked heavy metal oscillating weight, which winds the mainspring. Meanwhile, the double barrel provides a 68-hour power reserve. Additionally, a silicon balance spring controls the isochronism and makes the timepiece resistant to temperature changes, magnetic fields and shock.
Finally, the Grande Seconde Quantième 41 mm is water-resistant to 30 m. The red-gold versions come with a matching alligator strap with an ardillon buckle. Meanwhile, the stainless-steel versions come with a calf leather strap with a folding clasp. Additionally, the red-gold versions cost 20,700 euros, while the stainless-steel versions cost 9,900 euros.
Red gold: grand feu enamel ivory, deep blue, burgundy, or anthracite. Stainless steel: matte black, sandblasted titanium grey, or sandblasted silver dial.
