W&W 2020: A. Lange & Söhne ODYSSEUS White Gold Grey Dial
A. Lange & Söhne have introduced a new ODYSSEUS model, the ODYSSEUSWhite Gold Grey Dial. The watch is housed in a 40.5 mm three-part white-gold case and features a grey dial. Exuding a sporty feel, the watch is presented on a rubber strap with air ducts (Ref. 363.068). Alternatively, a brown leather strap (Ref. 363.038) is available for an elegant aesthetic.
The ODYSSEUS White Gold Grey Dial features a textured grey dial. Underneath the notched baton appliques, the watch is textured with an embossed groove structure. Likewise, the subsidiary seconds stand out thanks to the same texture. Meanwhile, the inner part of the main and subsidiary dials is matt. The time is displayed by white-gold hands. The hour and minute hands, as well as the hour markers, are luminous. Meanwhile, the flange ring with a printed minute scale features a red ’60’ at 12 o’clock.
The day and date are adjustable thanks to the tapered buttons that lie on either side of the crown. The numerals of the large date at 3 day display at 9 o’clock are coloured white. The date and day windows measure 2.4 mm in height.
Powering the ODYSSEUS White Gold Grey Dial is the L155.1 DATOMATIC manufacture calibre. The movement was specifically developed for the ODYSSEUS line last October. The name ‘DATOMATIC’ is a portmanteau of ‘date’ and ‘automatic’ to note the combination of a date mechanism and automatic winding. It oscillates at a frequency of 4 Hz. The mainspring barrel provides a power reserve of approximately 50 hours. Additionally, the movement is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. It exposes the skeletonised, partially black-rhodiumed unidirectional central rotor.
The ODYSSEUS White Gold Grey Dial is water-resistant to 120 m. Price EUR 39.500.
