Exclusively for owners of the new 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition, Porsche Design is creating a matching timepiece: the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition chronograph. Both the car and the timepiece demonstrate attention to detail with what might seem like trivial details to some, but which are actually of great importance to connoisseurs of the 911.
The Car
The new Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition is the starting point for a series of exclusive Porsche Heritage models that are intended to bring the zeitgeist of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s back to life. The 450 HP of the 992 series combines state-of-the-art technology with a vintage feel, and is limited to 992 units. The price is 183,226 euros for the most basic version.
The highlights include the gold-coloured model designation, the Porsche coat of arms from 1963 and the modern interpretation of the classic Porsche rims. The buyer can also choose a personal start number, which is printed in black on the doors.
The Watch
The 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition is based on the formative lines of the 1919 collection, but is inspired by the design of the Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition. The watch is housed in a 42 mm titanium case and features sapphire crystal on both the front and back. Numbers and hands are coated with a luminescence so that the watch can be read at night.
The dial evokes the green rings and numbers of the rev counter of the vehicle. In addition, the model designation “Porsche 911 Targa 4S” adorns the left flank at 9 o’clock. The gold lettering is located on a seconds disc, which mechanically indicates that the watch is running (the model does not have a seconds hand). The 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock and the 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock together with the central chronograph second hand form the stopwatch function. Additionally there is a date window at 4 o’clock.
On the back of the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition chronograph, the wearer has a clear view of the in-house calibre WERK 01.100. The rotor of the automatic movement is modelled on the legendary Fuchsfelge and bears the Porsche crest in the centre. In addition to a power reserve of 48 hours, it has a frequency of 4 Hz and is COSC-certified. The limited edition number is engraved on the back.
The 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition is water-resistant to 10 metres. The model is presented on a bracelet made of Porsche car leather. There is a choice between Bordeaux red and black. The watch is limited to 992 pieces and is available exclusively for owners of the Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition. The price is 10,950 euros.
