The High-Frequency Chopard Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF
The Chopard Manufacture presents with the Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF a new addition to the Alpine Eagle collection. It appears for the first time in a titanium case. The highlight, however, is the mechanics inside. Chopard has installed a new fast oscillating calibre that operates at a frequency of 8 hertz. The new model is a special edition and limited to 250 pieces.
The titanium case of the Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF
The case of this special edition is made of grade 5 titanium. This material is particularly light and has a darker shade than steel. As with the other models in the collection, the case diameter is 41 mm with a height of a flat 9.75 mm. From the side, the Alpine Eagle presents itself with a vertical satin finish and polished surfaces around the easy-grip crown. The latter also bears a compass rose emblem. This stands for the exploration of nature, which is the inspiration for the Alpine Eagle collection. The water resistance to 100 metres also matches this.
The satin-finished bezel has eight screws that are aligned parallel to the circumference of the bezel. Meanwhile, on the back of the case, the sapphire crystal case back allows a view of the mechanics. It also bears the imprint “CADENCE 8HF”. The watch appears on an integrated titanium bracelet. With its polished central bar, it picks up on the polished edges of the case. A folding clasp ensures a secure fit on the wrist.
Dial with the “Iris of the Eagle”
The structure of the dial of the Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF is intended to be reminiscent of the eagle’s gaze. The colour “Vals grey” is applied by hand, which makes each piece unique. For this model, Chopard has simplified the front so that only the baton indices and the Roman 12 remain. However, these bear luminous material, just like the main hands. There is also a date window at 4:30. To draw attention to the fast-swinging calibre, the watchmakers place a logo in the shape of a lightning bolt. This marks all Chopard watches that operate at high frequency.
The high-frequency movement of the Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF
The highlight of the Chopard Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF is the in-house 01.12-C calibre. It operates at a frequency of 8 hertz, which is twice as fast as conventional escapements. This higher frequency is supposed to improve the accuracy, because the faster the balance oscillates, the less susceptible it is to shocks. In addition, it offers automatic winding via a central rotor. The maximum power reserve is 60 hours. Last but not least, the COSC chronometer certificate guarantees, among other things, a maximum rate deviation of -4/+6 seconds per day.
Price & Availability of the Chopard Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF
The Chopard Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF is a limited edition of only 250 pieces. The release date is not yet known but the watch will be priced at 18,900 euros.
