Tudor Black Bay Ceramic Blue: Custom Watch Becomes Part of Collection
At the beginning of 2024, Tudor announced its return to motorsport and unveiled an exclusive version of the Black Bay Ceramic “Blue”. This watch, specially designed for the new Formula 1 team Visa Cash App RB, reflects Tudor’s tradition in racing. With a ceramic case, a blue dial reminiscent of the team’s racing colors, and a “Master Chronometer” certification, the watch is now also available to the public.
Case
The case of the Black Bay Ceramic “Blue” is made of matte black ceramic and has a diameter of 41 mm. This choice of material not only gives the watch a modern look but also makes it particularly resistant to scratches and wear. The sandblasted surface and the beveled, high-gloss polished edges create a contrast that emphasises the lines of the case. It also features a rotating bezel with a numeral insert in black ceramic. The transparent case back made of stainless steel with a black PVD coating and sapphire glass allows a view of the movement inside.
Dial
The domed dial of the Black Bay Ceramic “Blue” shines in a striking blue reminiscent of the colours of the Visa Cash App RB team. The applied hour markers and the characteristic “Snowflake” hands have a black border and are coated with X1 Super-LumiNova. This ensures optimal readability even in low light conditions.
Movement
Inside the Black Bay Ceramic “Blue” works the manufacture caliber MT5602-1U. This mechanical self-winding movement has been certified by COSC and also meets the stricter requirements of the METAS “Master Chronometer” certification. It features a silicon balance spring and has a power reserve of about 70 hours. The variable inertia balance wheel is fixed by a bridge, which increases the robustness and precision of the movement. The rotor, made of a tungsten monoblock, is open-worked and features a radial laser decoration with sandblasted details.
Strap
The Black Bay Ceramic “Blue” is presented with a hybrid strap made of leather and rubber, accented with blue stitching, and has a folding clasp made of stainless steel with a black PVD coating. Additionally, a black NATO strap with a blue center stripe and a stainless steel pin buckle with black PVD coating is included.
Price & Availability of the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic Blue
The new Black Bay Ceramic Blue is now available at authorized Tudor retailers. The price is 5,200 euros.
