Parmigiani Fleurier has introduced the Toric Tourbillon Slate. The watch was created in recognition of the Watches & Wonders’ digital platform launch. It features a flying tourbillon automatic movement, which is visible through the sapphire caseback. It is housed in a 42.8 mm, 18-carat red gold case and is limited to only 25 pieces.
The Toric Tourbillon Slate features a slate dial with Guilloché Grain de riz finishings. Furthermore, javelin-shaped 18-carat red gold hour and minute hands with luminescent coating match the red gold case. Additionally, the case itself is inspired by Ancient Greek Doric columns and features a finely fluted bezel.
The watch’s tourbillon doubles as a running seconds and is visible at 7 o’clock, with the inscribing ‘TOURBILLON 60 SECONDES’ above it. The position pays homage to the brand’s founder Michel Parmigiani, who was born at 7:08 in 1950.
The ultra-thin PF517 movement is 3.4 mm thick, and was kept slim by intergrating the 60-second flying tourbillon into the mainplate. The automatic movement also has a platinum micro-rotor, while the bridges are decorated with côtes de Genève. Moreover, it has a 48-hour power reserve and beats at a frequency of 3 Hz.
Finally, the Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Tourbillon Slate is presented on a Hermès alligator Havana strap with an 18-carat red gold buckle. Limited to 25 pieces, the caseback is engraved with the watch’s individual number. It is water-resistant to 30 m and costs 130,000 Swiss francs.
