The Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Capsule Collection
Breitling has introduced a brand new collection, the Breitling Capsule Collection Superocean Heritage ’57. Its watches are reminiscent of the laid-back Californian surfer lifestyle of the 50s and 60s, while their inspiration stems from the original 1957 Breitling SuperOcean. As well as three variations, Breitling has also released the colourful Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition.
The Breitling Capsule Collection Superocean Heritage ’57 model has a 42 mm stainless-steel case and a rotating bezel. The dial is protected by anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The blue or black dials showcase characteristic dots at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock. Furthermore, the indices, hour, minute hands are legible 24/7 thanks to a coating of Super-LumiNova.

A second version has a blue dial with a matching ceramic ring and comes with a brown leather strap. Thirdly, a two-tone variation features a 18-carat red-gold bezel and a black ceramic ring. It has a black dial and comes on a golden brown leather strap. All of the editions are also available with the ‘Ocean Classic’ stainless-steel strap.

The Breitling Capsule Collektion Superocean Heritage ’57 is powered by the brand’s self-winding calibre 10. The COSC-certified movement offers a 42-hour power reserve and a frequency of 4 Hz. Additionally, the watches are water-resistant to 100 m thanks to the watches’ screw-down casebacks.
Both models with stainless-steel bezels cost 4,550 euros with a leather strap, or 4,800 euros with the steel bracelet. By contrast, the model with a red-gold bezel costs 5,400 euros with a leather strap, or 5,650 euros with the steel bracelet.

Breitling has also released the new Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition. The watch has the same characteristics as its siblings, however it also further embraces the surfer lifestyle vibe of the collection. For example, the hour markers as well as the Super-Luminova-filled hands glow with the colours of the rainbow. Also, the caseback features an engraving that states: ‘ONE OF 250’. Additionally, the limited edition is not only available on a black leather strap or stainless-steel bracelet. Rather, the brand also offers a choice of six varying coloured NATO straps.
