Tissot PRX Chronograph: Timing in the style of the ’70s
The popular Tissot PRX is now also available as a chronograph. The wearer can now measure time intervals on the silver “Reverse Panda” dial. Alternatively there is a blue dial. The angular case remains quite similar and the automatic movement can be viewed through the transparent case back. The Tissot PRX Chronograph appears on an integrated stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp.
The PRX’s Vintage Case
The watch appears in an angular 42 mm stainless steel case in the sports watch style of the 1970s. Polished and satin-finished surfaces alternate. To operate the chronograph, there are square buttons above and below the crown. The dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal, which in turn is set in a polished bezel. The water resistance is 10 bar or 100 metres, underlining the sportiness of the watch. On the back, the sapphire crystal case back allows for a view inside.
The “Reverse Panda” And Blue Dial
Two different dials are available for the Tissot PRX Chronograph. First is the silver-coloured dial, which has a brushed finish. Here the counters appear black, while the indices and hands are in rose gold. Alternatively, there is a blue dial that also has a brushed finish. Here, however, the counters are white.
However, the hour and minute hands in both cases bear Super-LumiNova, which improves readability. While there is a small seconds at 9 o’clock, the minutes and hours are measured at 3 and 6 respectively. In addition, there is a date window at 4:30.
The Movement Inside The Tissot PRX Chronograph
The new model is equipped with the Valjoux-based Eta A05.H31, a chronograph calibre with automatic winding. The maximum power autonomy is 60 hours. The manufacturer also skeletonises the rotor and engraves the brand logo onto the metal.
Price & Availability of The Tissot PRX Chronograph
The PRX Chronograph comes on an integrated stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp. Both chronographs are available now. The price is 1,795 euros.
