The Florentine watchmaker Panerai is introducing the Panerai Luminor Blu Mare 44 mm – PAM01085. The model aims for a hybrid of authentic and avant-garde design. While the new watch also evokes the clean lines of the 90s Luminor models, the name ‘Blu Mare’ references the brand’s marine heritage. Powering it is a mechanical, manually wound calibre.

The case of the Panerai Luminor Blu Mare 44 mm – PAM01085 is made with corrosion-resistant AISI 316L steel. It measures 44 mm in diameter and 13.05 mm in height. Meanwhile, the bezel is made of polished steel, while the Safety Lock crown protection device and pressure-fit caseback use brushed steel. The sapphire crystal, made from the mineral corundum, protects the dial.

Meanwhile, the sunray blue dial displays the time using Arabic numerals and indices in green Super-LumiNova. The hour and minute hands are rhodium-played and also use luminescence. Small seconds at 9 o’clock, while an OP (Officine Panerai) logo lies at 6 o’clock.

Powering the Panerai Luminor Blu Mare 44 mm – PAM01085 is in-house calibre P.6000. This is a mechanical manual winding movement. Measuring 4.5 mm thick, it consists of 110 components and 19 jewels. The movement provides security and reliability with the inclusion of twin bridges supporting the regulator. Additionally, the calibre P.6000 uses an Incabloc shockproof device and possesses a three-day power reserve, which is provided by a single barrel.
Water-resistant up to 10 bar (100 m), the new watch costs 5,200 euros. It comes with a blue calfskin strap with beige stitching and with a trapezoidal pin buckle in satin steel. It also comes with a blue rubber strap.
