W&W 2020: Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Skeleton
Vacheron Constantin has introduced the Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Skeleton watch. The model manages to integrate a perpetual calendar into a slim case measuring 41.5 mm x 8.1 mm. The completely skeletonised dial reveals the movement. However, the watch is available in 18-carat 5N rose gold only.
The sapphire crystal protecting the Overseas perpetual calendar ultra-thin skeleton’s dial and caseback allows for a view of the watch’s entire movement. This includes the complex perpetual calendar plus moonphase display.
The dial itself uses three subdials to show the day, date, month and leap year. The moonphase display lies at 6 o’clock and features the brand’s name. Additionally, the hour markers plus hour and minute hands are 18-carat 5N rose gold and are legible 24/7 thanks to a covering of fluorescent material. However, the watch has no seconds hand.
