Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Chronograph: Now in Rosegold And Black Ceramic
Audemars Piguet is introducing a new variant of the Code 11.59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Chronograph. The watch combines complicated mechanics with an open dial and a case in rose gold and black ceramic for the first time. The new model is a limited edition of 50 pieces.
The Case Combines Ceramic And Rose Gold
The watch has the signature case of the collection, but here it appears in rose gold and black ceramic. The precious metal forms the thin bezel, the case back and the hollow lugs. In addition, the pushers and the crown with the AP logo shine in the warm hue of the material. The octagonal centre section, on the other hand, is of black ceramic, which is light yet extremely hard. With dimensions of 41 mm in diameter and 13.8 mm in height, the watch presents itself in an appropriate size. The front is protected by a double domed sapphire crystal that creates a unique visual effect. On the back, the see-through case back allows a look inside the watch.
The Open Dial of The Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Chronograph
The open dial brings the architectural mechanics into focus. Only the two main hands and a ring with minute track remain to indicate the time. There are also two totalisers that display the measured minutes and hours of the chronograph. The rose gold bridges are notable, picking up on the colour of the case and also matching the balance wheel inside the tourbillon at 6 o’clock.
Complicated Movement
Inside the Code 11.59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Chronograph is the skeletonised Calibre 2952. This manufacture movement consists of 479 parts and debuted in 2020. It combines a flying tourbillon with a flyback chronograph. The frequency is 3 hertz. It also has a power reserve of 65 hours. It is wound with the help of a skeleton oscillating weight made of 22-carat rose gold. The blackened movement is highly decorated with a total of 111 V-angles, which the watchmakers polish by hand.

However, in the company's first two decades, calendar complications accounted for less than 10%…
