The new Vacheron Constantin model is not only marked by its technical features, but especially fascinates with the story behind. In cooperation with the American long-distance explorer and photographer Cory Richards the Swiss watch manufacture created the Overseas Dual Time Prototype – a prototype supporting the extreme alpinist during his third Everest climb.

The new watch displays two time zones. This way during his time on the Everest it was possible for Richards to view the local time in Nepal as well as the time of his American home. Some details are as well inspired by the expeditions of the adventurer: The oscillating weight is adorned with an engravement of one of his Everest pictures.

The 41 mm case is forged from sturdy and light titanium, while a reinforcement made of tantalum – a particularly hard metal – has been integrated beneath the bezel. The crown protection is reinforced by two titanium guards. This model is fitted with an orange-stitched grey blue Ventile technical fabric distinguished by its density and waterproofness. The sporty nature of the prototype is likewise expressed in the orange-accented grey blue frosted dial as well as in the NAC treatment applied to its movement.
To present Richards experiences during his expedition in the Himalaya Vacheron Constantin launched an event in New York on the 18thJune. Being a part of the brand’s communication campagne “One out of many”, the American captured his adventure in pictures and videos, which are now exhibited in the Vacheron Constantin boutiques all over the world.
