Swiss manufacture Audemars Piguet is adding a limited edition complicated watch to the Code 11.59 collection. The Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Flying Tourbillon Chronograph Automatic combines a flying tourbillon with a flyback chronograph. The watch is a limited edition of 50 pieces.
The case of the Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Flying Tourbillon Chronograph Automatic measures 41 mm in diameter and is 18-carat white gold. It has an integrated octagonal centrepiece with a round, flat bezel and domed, hollow lugs.
The skeletonised dial showcases the movement’s components. The open-worked rhodium-plated and black galvanised bridges in titanium and silver allow for a closer look inside. Furthermore, the chronograph counters at 3 and 9 o’clock are also skeletonised. Meanwhile, the blue lacquered bezel, blued hands, and chronograph rings in 18-carat white gold provide a contrast in colour, helping legibility. A double-domed sapphire crystal protects the dial.
The Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Flying Tourbillon Chronograph marks the first time that a flyback chronograph has been utilised in combination with a flying tourbillon. The manufacture’s Calibre 2952 integrates these two functions and has a power reserve of 65 hours. An open-worked rhodium-plated 22-carat gold oscillating weight winds the mainspring barrel. The balance in the tourbillon cage beats at a frequency of 3 Herz. The movement has 479 components plus 40 jewels.
The Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Flying Tourbillon Chronograph Automatic is presented on a hand-sewn blue alligator leather strap with a folding clasp. The watch is a limited edition of 50 pieces and costs 257,500 euros.
