Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultrathin
The new Audemars Piguet luxury watch model belongs to the technological highlights of the brand founded in 1875 in the Swiss Jura. With a movement of only 2.89 mm and a case 6.3 mm high the new Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultrathin (Ref. 26586IP.OO.1240IP.01) is one of the thinnest models with a perpetual calendar worldwide.

Derived from the prototype RD#2 presented on the watch fair SIHH 2018 the mechanism has been completely reworked and fitted in an ultrathin case. Therefore the functions of the perpetual calendar, which are usually situated on three different levels, have been arranged on only one layer. As well the end-of-the-month cam has been integrated to the date wheel, while the month cam has been combined to the month wheel.
Also, the new model’s blue, satin-brushed dial, which is visible behind glare-proofed sapphire crystal, has been adapted: The small dials showing the day of the week, the date and the month have been amplified to guarantee a better readability. The day and night indication was placed at 8 o’clock – symmetrical to the leap year indication at 4 o‘clock. The applied hour-markers and the typical Royal Oak hands were made of white gold and coated with a luminescent layer, allowing the watch to be read easily in darkness.

The case of the watch is made of titanium, like it’s strap. The bezel and the links of the strap were crafted of polished 950 platinum. The alternation of polished and satin-brushed surfaces on the case, bracelet and bezel complete the Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultrathin’s look. As well the new model’s caseback is made of glare-proofed sapphire-crystal. The strap is equipped with a titanium folding clasp.

The Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultrathin has a diameter of 41 mm an is operated by the selfwinding calibre 5133. The model is water-resistant to a depth of 20 meters.
The new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar white ceramic offers a slim case which nonetheless houses a complete perpetual calendar. The 41 mm case is made of white ceramic.
