Angelus Instrument de Vitesse: Indianapolis And Silverstone Editions
Angelus presents two new editions of the Instrument de Vitesse. The Indianapolis and Silverstone editions feature a 39 mm steel case, a manual winding movement with a one-minute chronograph, and a tachymetric scale. Both watches are produced in a limited edition of 25 pieces and come with a matching nubuck strap.
Case
The case of the Angelus Instrument de Vitesse has a diameter of 39 mm and a height of 9.27 mm. These dimensions give the watch a slim profile, despite the chronograph function. The case is made of stainless steel and features a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. The pushers are integrated into the crown, following a design that harks back to the 1950s. The water resistance is 3 bar, equivalent to 30 metres.
Dial
The dial of the Angelus Instrument de Vitesse is divided into two functional zones. The outer ring features a tachymetric scale, while the inner zone displays the time. The dial is available in two colours: Indianapolis blue and Silverstone grey. The fonts are elegant and cursive, providing a contrast that ensures readability. The hour markers and hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring visibility in low light conditions. The central seconds hand serves as the chronograph hand, making a single revolution per minute.
Movement
The A5000 calibre powers the Angelus Instrument de Vitesse. This manual winding movement is produced by the sister company La Joux-Perret and operates at a frequency of 3 Hz. It features a column wheel and a horizontal clutch, typical of vintage chronographs. The movement has a thickness of 4.20 mm and a power reserve of 42 hours. The decorations include circular graining and Côtes de Genève stripes, adding to the aesthetic appeal. The absence of totalisers is a nod to the watch’s streamlined design.
Strap
Both editions of the Angelus Instrument de Vitesse come with a matching strap made of nubuck calfskin. The Indianapolis edition features a dark blue strap, while the Silverstone edition is equipped with a grey strap. Both straps have ecru stitching and a stainless steel pin buckle.
Price & Availability
The Angelus Instrument de Vitesse is a limited edition watch. Each colour variant is produced in an edition of 25 pieces. The watches are available through authorised dealers. The price for the Angelus Instrument de Vitesse is CHF 17,200.
