Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph: New Limited Edition in Pink Gold
Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled a new version of the Reverso Tribute Chronograph, featuring a pink gold case. Key design elements include a solid pink gold dial with a new decorative finish and an open-worked reverse side showcasing the intricacies of the chronograph mechanism. Powered by the newly developed Calibre 860, this watch also pays homage to the Reverso Chronograph of 1996, with a movement that reflects the brand’s innovative spirit. Limited to 250 pieces, the watch comes with two interchangeable straps, including one from the Fagliano Collection.
Case
The case of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph in Pink Gold measures 49.4 x 29.9 mm and has a thickness of 11.14 mm. Made from 18k pink gold, the case features the iconic swivelling design that has become synonymous with the Reverso line. This design also served a practical purpose, protecting the watch face during sporting activities. Here the reverse exposes the chronograph function on a second dial. The thin, elongated shape of the case is characteristic of the Art Deco style, which is a defining feature of the Reverso. Despite the large dimensions, the case is elegantly proportioned and showcases the material’s warm hue. The watch is water-resistant up to 30 metres, providing some protection against water splashes.
Dial
The front dial, made of solid pink gold, is laser-engraved with fine horizontal lines that enhance the rectilinear geometry of the Reverso case. This clean and contemporary aesthetic amplifies the three horizontal gadroons above and below the dial. The signature Reverso Tribute design elements, such as the applied trapezoid indexes and Dauphine hands, are set against this backdrop. Notably, the minutes track is highlighted in black, creating a striking contrast with the pink gold. On the reverse side, the open-worked dial reveals the complexity of the chronograph mechanism, with hand-bevelled edges and vertical Côtes de Genève decoration on the 18k pink gold bridges. The blackened tracks enhance legibility and create a stark contrast with the movement. The blue chronograph hands and blued screws add a pop of colour, while the polished pink gold indexes appear to float above the movement, adding to the dial’s three-dimensionality.
Movement
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph in Pink Gold is powered by the Calibre 860. This manually wound movement is a modern interpretation of the integrated chronograph movement that was first introduced in the Reverso Chronograph of 1996. The Calibre 860 features a column wheel and horizontal clutch. It has a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of 52 hours. The movement’s rectangular shape is designed to fit the case and allows for a symmetrical dial layout. The front and reverse dials are driven by two sets of hands that move in opposite directions. The chronograph function includes central seconds, a retrograde 30-minute counter, and start/stop and reset pushers.
Strap
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph in Pink Gold comes with two straps that reflect the watch’s duality. One strap is made of tan calf leather from the Fagliano Collection, designed by the Argentine polo bootmaker Casa Fagliano. This strap adds a sporty touch to the watch and is equipped with a quick-release system for easy changes. The other strap is made of black alligator leather, lending a more classic and elegant air to the timepiece. Both straps feature an interchangeable pin buckle in pink gold, matching the case and adding an extra detail of luxury.
