The ClubCampus is the entry-level watch model from Nomos Glashütte. Now, the brand has introduced two new models in the colours Night Sky and Starlight. With a robust design, a mix of Roman and Arabic numerals on the dial, and the hand-wound Alpha calibre, these models are available in two sizes and offer a unique opportunity for custom engravings on the stainless steel back. Let’s take a closer look at the new Nomos Glashütte Club Campus Night Sky and Starlight.
Robust Cases with Two Size Options
The cases of the Nomos Glashütte Club Campus Night Sky and Starlight are made of polished stainless steel and offer a straightforward Bauhaus-inspired design. There are two size options available: a compact 36 mm case with an 8.2 mm profile and a larger 38.5 mm case with an 8.5 mm thickness. Both versions feature a sapphire crystal on the front, ensuring durability and scratch resistance. The water resistance of 10 bar (100 metres) makes these watches suitable for light water activities. While the casebacks come standard without glas, there is an option for a sapphire crystal caseback, allowing a view of the movement inside.
California Dial in Night Sky and Starlight
The dials of the Nomos Glashütte Club Campus Night Sky and Starlight are inspired by the theme of the night sky and feature a distinctive California-style dial. The Night Sky version has a dark blue base with white numerals and hour markers, all with a pink outline. In contrast, the Starlight edition features a yellow dial with light grey numerals and indices, complemented by an orange outline. Both dials share rhodium-plated hour and minute hands with luminous inserts, ensuring readability in low light conditions. A striking neon orange seconds hand adds a pop of colour to the recessed small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock. The mix of Roman and Arabic numerals, along with the short stick indices, gives the dial a unique character that sets it apart from other models.
In-House Movement Alpha
At the core of the Nomos Glashütte Club Campus is the in-house Alpha movement, a refined iteration of the Peseux 7001 architecture that is entirely manufactured by Nomos in Glashütte, Germany. This slender, manually wound caliber maintains the Swiss lever escapement, minimalist design, and small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock while incorporating typical German craftsmanship. Offering a 43-hour power reserve and a hacking seconds function for precise time-setting, the Alpha movement ensures both reliability and accuracy. Visible through an optional sapphire crystal caseback, it features traditional Glashütte finishing techniques, including ribbing akin to Geneva stripes, intricate perlage, hand-blued screws, and sunburst-finished wheels. While some may debate the movement’s design origins, this approach represents a pragmatic philosophy of refining proven reliability rather than pursuing novelty, allowing Nomos to deliver exceptional craftsmanship at competitive price points.
Vegan Velour Strap
The Nomos Glashütte Club Campus Night Sky and Starlight are presented with a strap made of vegan velour. Their, depending on the model, grey or dark anthracite colour complements the watches and adds to their overall aesthetic. The strap is equipped with a stainless steel pin buckle, ensuring a secure fit on the wrist. While the choice of a vegan strap is an addition that reflects the brand’s commitment to sustainability, there are also two different metal bracelets available.
Price and Availability of the Club Campus Night Sky and Starlight
The Nomos Glashütte Club Campus Night Sky and Starlight are now available from authorised dealers and on the brand’s website. When buying on the brand’s website, there is the option to add an engraving to the back of the watch free of charge. The Club Campus 36 is priced at EUR 1,300, while the Club Campus 38 is priced at EUR 1,400. If you wish to have a sapphire crystal caseback, this option adds 200 euros to the price.
