Breitling Top Time B31: New Brand Ambassador And A New Manufacture Movement
Breitling’s iconic model since the 1960s is presented with a new manufacture calibre in the form of the Top Time B31 three-hand series. With the launch, Breitling is also introducing the new face of the brand: Austin Butler, the up-and-coming Hollywood star and Oscar-nominated actor, brings a special radiance to the collection with his new commitment as brand ambassador. But what really sets this watch apart is the brand-new manufacture calibre B31 movement, the first of its kind to be specially developed by Breitling with three hands.
Top Time B31 case: elegance meets robustness
The stainless steel case of the Top Time B31 measures 38 mm in diameter with a thickness of 10.3 mm. With a water resistance of up to 10 bar, it proves to be resilient both in everyday life and during sporting activities.
The domed sapphire crystal cover, which has an anti-reflective coating on the inside, ensures a clear view of the dial and protects against scratches. The screw-down case back with sapphire crystal also provides a fascinating view of the complex inner workings of the watch.
The dial: A play of colours and contrasts
The dial of the Top Time B31 is a masterpiece of minimalist design and is available in three colour variants: Blue with a white inner ring, green with a black inner ring and white with a sky blue inner ring.
The applied indexes and the bright orange second hand create striking accents. The hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova®, which ensures excellent readability in poor lighting conditions. The enlarged date window is another highlight and emphasises the functional elegance of the design.
The movement: The centrepiece of innovation
The automatic calibre B31, the first three-hand manufacture movement developed by Breitling, is a testament to the brand’s technological innovation. With a diameter of 28.4 mm and a height of 4.8 mm, it is a compact but powerful movement. The power reserve of approx. 78 hours and the COSC certification guarantee precise timekeeping and reliability.
The free-sprung balance and the skeletonised bidirectional oscillating weight are visible through the transparent case back. The movement also features elegant decorations such as Côtes de Genève and perlage.
Two sporty-elegant straps
There are different strap options for the Top Time B31: a perforated racing-style calfskin strap with contrasting stitching or a three-row stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp.
The asymmetrical centre links of the stainless steel bracelet are a distinctive Breitling design feature that enhances the watch’s presence on the wrist. Both bracelets emphasise the sporty character of the watch while offering a high level of wearing comfort.
Price and availability of the Breitling Top Time B31
The Breitling Top Time B31 is now available at selected retailers and Breitling boutiques worldwide. The price varies depending on the bracelet option. The price for the versions with a calfskin strap is 5,500 euros, and 5,800 euros for timepieces with a stainless steel bracelet.
