Established in 1983 as a response to the quartz crisis, Swatch has since been synonymous with vibrant, innovative, and economical Swiss timepieces. With its plastic watches, Swatch revolutionised the industry and helped to save large parts of the Swiss watch sector. Now part of the Swatch Group, the brand is renowned for its playful designs, limited-edition releases and collaborations with artists. The introduction of the Sistem51 – the first fully automated mechanical movement comprising just 51 components – once again demonstrated Swatch's innovative spirit. Collaborations such as the MoonSwatch with Omega and the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bioceramic with an exhibition caseback have generated global attention.
