The Florentine watchmaker Panerai is introducing the Panerai Luminor Marina 44 mm – PAM01313. As a successor of the diving watch Luminor (the name is inspired by the luminous substance tritium) developed in the early 1950s, this watch will be the core model of the newly designed Luminor collection.
The case of the Panerai Luminor Marina 44 mm – PAM01313 is made of 316L steel and measures 44 mm in diameter and 15.65 mm in height. Meanwhile, the bezel and the patented crown protection bridge are made of satin-finished steel. The caseback is screwed down, while sapphire crystal protects the dial.
The blue sunburst dial features green fluorescent Arabic numerals and white Super-LumiNova-filled hour markers. In addition, small seconds lie at 9 o’clock. while the date window is on show at 3 o’clock.
Driving the Panerai Luminor Marina 44 mm is the in-house caliber P.9010. It offers automatic winding and consists of 200 components plus 31 jewels. Thanks to two mainspring barrels, the movement has a power reserve of three days. The frequency is 28,800 oscillations/hour (or 4 Hz). The watch also features a quick-release adjustment of the hour hand; it can be moved forwards or backwards in 1-hour increments, with the date being adjusted automatically.
The new Panerai Luminor Marina – PAM01313 is water resistant to 30 bar (300 m) and comes with an alligator leather strap with a satin finish steel buckle. Also included is a second rubber strap, a special tool to change the strap, and a screwdriver tool which removes the buckle. The price is 7,500 euros.
