Panerai Luminor Quaranta Carbotech PAM01526: New Watch Debuts at SIAR 2024
At the Salon Internacional Alta Relojería in Mexico, Panerai has unveiled a new version of the Luminor Quaranta. The Panerai Luminor Quaranta Carbotech PAM01526 will be presented to the public for the first time, showcasing a smaller case and a bold design with attractive materials.
Case
The case of the Panerai Luminor Quaranta Carbotech PAM01526 is made from Carbotech, a material composed of carbon fibers that makes it lightweight yet durable. This is the first time the Luminor Quaranta features a Carbotech case. Measuring 40 mm, the case includes the characteristic crown protection and straight lugs. The matte black surface varies by piece, giving each watch a unique appearance. Additionally, the new water resistance of 30 bar (approximately 300 meters) is a notable feature. The screwed back with sapphire crystal offers a view of the movement.
Dial
The dial of the Panerai Luminor Quaranta Carbotech PAM01526 is matt green, consistent with the ‘sandwich’ style that enhances depth and legibility. The white Super-LumiNova X1 on the dial and hands ensures visibility even in dim light. As typical for Panerai watches, the small seconds sub-dial is positioned at 9 o’clock, adding to the dial’s functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Movement
Powering the Panerai Luminor Quaranta Carbotech PAM01526 is the automatic P.900 calibre. This movement is known for its slim dimensions despite offering multiple functions. It has a diameter of 28 mm and a thickness of 4.2 mm, making it one of the slimmer movements in Panerai’s lineup. Key features include a three-day power reserve, a balance wheel oscillating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and a bidirectional rotor. The inclusion of a seconds stop mechanism allows for precise time setting. The open case back provides an unobstructed view of the intricate mechanics.
Strap
The Panerai Luminor Quaranta Carbotech PAM01526 comes with two strap options using the innovative PAM Click Release System. One is a military green rubber strap designed for durability and comfort, while the other is a brown calf leather strap, reminiscent of Panerai’s historical designs. Both straps feature a brushed titanium buckle with DLC coating, ensuring both aesthetics and robustness.
Price & Availability of the Panerai Luminor Quaranta Carbotech PAM01526
The Panerai Luminor Quaranta Carbotech PAM01526 will be exclusively available through Panerai boutiques following its debut at SIAR 2024. The price is 13,500 euros.
