Patek Philippe is introducing four new models from the Nautilus collection at Watches & Wonders 2021. The new Nautilus 5711/1A-014, with its olive green dial, stands out in particular, and replaces the discontinued Nautilus 5711/1A with a blue dial.
In addition, the manufacture is also launching a variation of this new 5711/1A-014 with a diamond-set bezel. Elsewhere, Patek Philippe is introducing the Travel Time Chronograph 5990/1R-001 in a rose-gold case with a blue dial. Finally, the Genevese horology house is introducing a Ladies’ Nautilus in rose-gold, set with 2553 diamonds.
Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1A-014 with olive green dial
The sunburst finish complements the colouring and picks up on the light reflections on the steel case. The olive green also contrasts with the luminescent hands and indices in white gold. For the case, Patek Philippe relies on the familiar design blueprint and, as usual, the automatic calibre 26-330 S C ticks inside. Last but not least, the water resistance of up to 120 m remains the same. According to the horological house, the new 5711/1A-014 will only be produced for one year – hence we are talking about a limited production, but not limited edition.
Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1300A-001 with baguette diamonds
The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1300A-00 combines a steel case with a diamond-set bezel. In order for the 32 baguette diamonds (~3.6 carats) to fit into the rounded bezel, each stone is cut slightly trapezoidal, instead of rectangular. Similarly to the model above, powering this Nautilus is the 26-330 S C calibre.
Patek Philippe Travel Time Chronograph 5990/1R-001 in Rose Gold
The Patek Philippe Travel Time Chronograph 5990/1R-001 complements the Nautilus 5990/1, with the latter first appearing in stainless-steel back in 2014. The new watch appears in a rose-gold case with a blue dial. Inside the 5990/1R-001 ticks the calibre CH 28-520 C FUS with automatic winding. It combines a flyback chronograph with a travel time function and a date at 12 o’clock. The watch also features two day/night displays with the headings “LOCAL” and “HOME”. An integrated rose-gold bracelet secures the watch to the wrist with a folding clasp.
Patek Philippe Nautilus High Jewellery 7118/1450R-001
With the Patek Philippe Nautilus Haute Joaillerie 7118/1450R-001, the Swiss company is expanding its range of ladies’ models. The new model is made of rose gold and measures 35.2 mm in diameter. Patek Philippe sets the watch with 2553 brilliant-cut diamonds (~12.69 carats).
Another special feature is the snowflake setting on the case, bezel and bracelet, in which the watch is set with diamonds without a grid. The utmost care is taken to bring the stones as close together as possible. This technique makes each watch unique. Finally, the manufacture equips the model with the calibre 324 S with automatic winding.

A few weeks back we mentioned the Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 Bronzo while introducing bronze watches at swisswatches. We now managed to get our hands on to a piece with very unique patina, which we found so thrilling that we dedicated it a little photo story. Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 Bronzo The owner bought the Panerai…
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Black Ceramic 34 mm: it's a watch that trends on social media, enjoys demand and discussion, and consequently gets its own article on pretty much every watch publication. We are also keen to get to know this Casanova of the watch world, which is why editor Catherine Bishop took…
July 14, 2016, was a particularly memorable day for Yves Piaget, the fourth and final direct descendant of the founding family of the eponymous watch and jewellery manufacture. For the launch of the Piaget Polo S, he returned to the place where he caused a sensation with a spectacular campaign in 1985, when he was…
Watch enthusiasts are more or less used to conversations with friends and relatives who don’t share their horological passion: it mostly consists of explaining, enthusing, justifying, and sometimes arguing about the fact that different occasions call for different watches. On the one hand, that’s perfectly correct, but on the other hand, there are exceptional timepieces…
If there’s one thing you should know about Frederique Constant, it’s that the brand is on the up. In recent years, under the savvy leadership of CEO Niels Eggerding, the Swiss horology house has streamlined its watches, refined its target group, and is simultaneously shifting into a higher quality environment. This shift ranges from commerce,…
As you might have heard, Patek Philippe invested 600 million Swiss francs into its new factory building in Plan-les-Ouates, which was completed earlier this year. If you are wondering what such a large sum was spent on, and how the Stern family is envisaging the balancing act between preserving tradition and looking to the future,…
The German watch brand Stowa has undergone an impressive range of developments over the course of its history. Around 1937, ten years after its foundation, Stowa began manufacturing watches in the Bauhaus style – a rarely implemented design at the time. Its original manufacturing building was completely destroyed by a bombing raid in 1945, but…
When it comes to measuring time, standing still is a bad idea. But it's not just the watch itself that should never stand still in the best case scenario - or, in the case of a mechanical watch, provide perfect information again after manual winding or a quick shake of the wrist and setting the…
It is one of the biggest privileges of our time: To have space to ourselves. To enjoy the wideness. To become one with nature, rather than bumping into masses of people in an overcrowded city. This is how life was long before the current world crisis, and will probably become an even bigger and more…
In light of the release of the OMEGA Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary, it is well worth reliving the story of the tensest space missions in history, in which OMEGA's Speedmaster proved instrumental in providing safety for NASA's Apollo 13 crew. Destined for the moon It was April 11, 1970, when an unprecendented catastrophe…
Were it not for a coincidence, Enrico Barbasini would probably be making it big as a musician, like his father, and not in the limelight as one of the most talented watchmakers of our time. Fortunately, a chance encounter gifted us Enrico Barbasini when his father (he was opera singer) met a young man with…
To speak of a modest-looking watch would be inappropriate for such a complex model with such a long history. However, if one looks at the versions currently representing the collection, the latest Patek Philippe perpetual calendar chronograph is probably the most discreet version of them all. Yellow gold with a silver-opaline leaf – this is…
