Application and Participation

By submitting an application for the curated LEICA x SWISSWATCHES Watch Photography Masterclass (the “Masterclass”), applicants accept the following conditions of application and participation (the “Conditions”). Applicants are advised to read these Conditions carefully before applying.

The Masterclass is organised jointly by swisswatches.media GmbH, Konsul-Smidt-Straße 24, 28217 Bremen, Germany (“SWISSWATCHES”) and Leica Camera AG, Am Leitz-Park 5, 35578 Wetzlar, Germany (“LEICA”).

Applications may be submitted from 20 July 2026, 00:00 CEST until 20 August 2026, 23:59 CEST via the online application form available at Leica x Swisswatches Watch Photography Masterclass

The Masterclass is a curated application format. It is not a prize draw, lottery, raffle or game of chance. No random draw will take place. Up to 15 participants will be selected jointly by LEICA and SWISSWATCHES from all eligible applications, based on the profile and suitability of the applicants for the Masterclass concept.

1. General Provisions

1.1 The Masterclass and the application process are subject to these Conditions. By submitting the application form, applicants agree to be bound by these Conditions.

1.2 Legal recourse is excluded regarding eligibility, selection and allocation of places, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

1.3 If any provision of these Conditions is or becomes invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid provision that comes closest to the purpose of the invalid provision as then negotiated between the parties.

2. Eligible Applicants

2.1 Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of their application and resident in Germany.

2.2 The Masterclass is intended for watch collectors with a genuine interest in mechanical watches and photography.

2.3 LEICA and SWISSWATCHES may request proof of age, identity, residence and eligibility.

2.4 Employees and immediate family members of employees of LEICA, SWISSWATCHES and their affiliated companies as well as professional consultants, agencies and service providers involved in the creation, organisation or execution of the Masterclass are excluded from applying.

2.5 The application is free of charge. If an applicant is selected and confirms their participation on a binding basis, a gross participation fee of EUR 99 will be payable to SWISSWATCHES for participation in the Masterclass. The net proceeds from the participation fee will be donated to HORIZONT e.V. Munich.. No purchase is required beyond the participation fee.

2.6 Each applicant warrants that all information provided in the application form is true, current and complete.

2.7 Applicants may not use the application process in an offensive, unlawful, misleading, manipulative or fraudulent manner. LEICA and SWISSWATCHES may exclude applicants if there is reasonable cause to believe that these Conditions have been violated.

3. Application Process

3.1 Applications may be submitted via the online application form available at Leica Watch Photography Masterclass from 20 July 2026, 00:00 CEST until 20 August 2026, 23:59 CEST.

3.2 Applicants must provide all required information in the application form. The required information currently includes salutation, first name, surname, city, country, e-mail address, photography skill level, watch collecting experience and a short motivation letter.

3.3 The application form must be completed personally by the applicant. Applications submitted by third parties, automated systems or technical manipulation are not permitted and will be excluded from the selection process.

3.4 Only one application per applicant is permitted. Multiple, incomplete, incorrect, late, technically defective or manipulated applications will be excluded.

3.5 LEICA and SWISSWATCHES are not responsible for technical malfunctions, network failures, delayed or lost applications, unauthorised access or other technical issues outside their reasonable control.

4. Selection of Participants

4.1 After the end of the application period, LEICA and SWISSWATCHES will jointly review all eligible applications and select up to 15 participants.

4.2 The selection is curated and based on the applicant profile and fit with the Masterclass concept. In particular, LEICA and SWISSWATCHES are looking for watch collectors with a genuine interest in mechanical watches and photography.

4.3 The application process does not create any entitlement to participation.

4.4 Selected participants will be notified by e-mail after the end of the application period. LEICA and SWISSWATCHES are not obliged to notify applicants who are not selected.

4.5 Selected participants will subsequently receive a payment request from SWISSWATCHES. Selected participants must confirm their participation and pay the participation fee of EUR 99 within the period stated in the payment request. If a selected participant does not confirm or pay in time, is no longer eligible, cancels their participation or does not attend the Masterclass, LEICA and SWISSWATCHES may offer the place to another eligible applicant.

4.6 LEICA and SWISSWATCHES may maintain a waiting list and offer available places to other eligible applicants if selected participants do not confirm or pay in time or cancel their participation.

5. Masterclass and Included Services

5.1 The Masterclass will take place on Thursday, 17 September 2026, approx. 15:00-22:00 CEST in Munich, Germany.

5.2 The exact venue will be communicated only to the selected participants for security and organisational reasons. Participants must not publish or share the venue details without prior approval by LEICA and SWISSWATCHES.

5.3 The Masterclass will be conducted in English.

5.4 Participation includes access to the Masterclass and event hospitality with food and drinks during the official programme.

5.5 After selection and binding confirmation of participation, a gross participation fee of EUR 99 will be payable to SWISSWATCHES for participation in the Masterclass. The net proceeds from the participation fee will be donated to HORIZONT e.V. Munich. Payment details, the accepted payment method and the payment deadline will be provided to selected participants by e-mail. If a participant cancels after payment has been made, the participation fee will not be refunded, unless a refund is required by mandatory applicable law. If the Masterclass is cancelled by LEICA and/or SWISSWATCHES, the participation fee will be refunded.

5.6 Travel to and from the event, accommodation, transfers, insurance, personal expenses and any costs outside the official programme are not included and must be borne by the participants themselves.

5.7 LEICA will provide the cameras required for the Masterclass. Participants do not need to bring their own camera equipment but are free to do so.

5.8 Participants may bring their own watches to the Masterclass. Any cameras, watches or other personal belongings brought by participants are brought at the participant’s own risk. Additionally, clause 6.4 applies.

5.9 The schedule, content, speakers, equipment, venue arrangements and other organisational details may be adjusted by LEICA and SWISSWATCHES if required for legal, technical, organisational, security-related or other reasonable reasons.

6. Conduct, Security and House Rules

6.1 Participants must behave respectfully and appropriately during the Masterclass and must follow all security, organisational and venue instructions issued by LEICA, SWISSWATCHES, the venue or their representatives.

6.2 Participants must comply with the venue’s house rules and any security requirements communicated before or during the Masterclass.

6.3 LEICA and SWISSWATCHES may exclude participants from the Masterclass in case of inappropriate, unsafe, disruptive, unlawful or disrespectful behaviour, or if a participant fails to follow security or organisational instructions.

6.4 Participants are responsible for ensuring that any personal items they bring, including watches and other valuables, are safely handled and supervised by them at all times.

7. Photography, Video and Publicity

7.1 Photo and video recordings may be made during the Masterclass by or on behalf of LEICA and SWISSWATCHES.

7.2 By applying for the Masterclass and, if selected, participating in the Masterclass, participants acknowledge and agree that such photo and video recordings may be used by LEICA and SWISSWATCHES for editorial, public relations, social media and marketing communication in connection with the Masterclass.

7.3 The exact scope of image, video, voice, name and statement usage should be confirmed in the application form and, where required, in a separate media release or consent form before or at the Masterclass.

7.4 Participants must not record, photograph or publish content from the Masterclass in a way that breaches security instructions, confidentiality requirements, venue rules, rights of other participants or instructions given by LEICA or SWISSWATCHES.

8. Data Protection and LEICA Marketing Consent

8.1 Personal data of applicants will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and any other applicable data protection laws.

8.2 The personal data and information collected for the application process currently includes salutation, first name, surname, city, country, e-mail address, photography skill level, watch collecting experience and a short motivation letter.

8.3 Applicant data will initially be collected by SWISSWATCHES via WordPress and may be shared with LEICA for the purpose of reviewing applications, selecting participants, organising and administering the Masterclass, communicating with selected participants and fulfilling related legal obligations.

8.4 Submitting an application does not require consent to receive LEICA’s e-mail newletter and selected LEICA marketing communications. Applicant may separately and voluntarily consent to receive LEICA e-mail newsletters and selected LEICA marketing communications by ticking the relevant checkbox on the application form. Giving or refusing such consent will not affect the applicant’s eligibility, the selection process or participation in the Masterclass.

8.5 The personal data required for LEICA marketing communications, in particular name and e-mail address, will be transmitted to and processed by LEICA for the purpose of sending e-mail newsletters and selected marketing communications.

8.6 Applicants may withdraw their consent to receive LEICA marketing communications at any time with effect for the future. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

8.7 Details on how to withdraw consent, unsubscribe from LEICA marketing communications and exercise data protection rights will be provided in LEICA’s marketing communications and in LEICA’s privacy policy.

8.9 The use of personal data by SWISSWATCHES is subject to the SWISSWATCHES privacy policy, available at: https://swisswatches-magazine.com/privacy-policy/

8.10 Apart from data required for the execution of the application process, the organisation of the Masterclass, the fulfilment of legal obligations and marketing purposes based on consent, personal data provided for the application process will be deleted or anonymised within six months after the end of the Masterclass, unless longer retention is required or permitted by law. Personal data processed on the basis of a separate consent for LEICA marketing communications will, irrespective of the foregoing, be processed until the consent is withdrawn or until the processing purpose no longer applies. Records of consent given may be retained for the duration of statutory documentation and limitation periods.

8.11 Applicants may contact SWISSWATCHES with any questions relating to the processing of their personal data in connection with the application process. 8.12 LEICA and SWISSWATCHES may send service-related, non-marketing communications where necessary for the implementation of the application process and the Masterclass, including notifications about selection, attendance confirmation, organisational details, security instructions or the Masterclass fulfilment.

9. Cancellation, Changes and Force Majeure

9.1 LEICA and SWISSWATCHES may cancel, postpone, amend or substitute the Masterclass or parts of it if this becomes necessary due to legal, technical, organisational, security-related, illness, force majeure, or other reasons outside their reasonable control. Applicants will be informed of material changes as soon as reasonably possible.

9.2 If a participant is unable to attend the Masterclass for any reason, including illness, scheduling conflicts, travel issues or failure to comply with participation requirements, no cash alternative, compensation or replacement will be provided. Any refund of the participation fee is governed by clause 5.5.

9.3 The right to participate is personal and non-transferable. A participant may not transfer their place to another person.

10. Liability

10.1 LEICA and SWISSWATCHES accept no liability for any damage, loss, pain, suffering, costs or expenses suffered by applicants or participants in connection with the application process or the Masterclass, unless such limitation or exclusion of liability is not permitted under applicable law.

10.2 Nothing in these Conditions shall exclude or limit liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

10.3 LEICA and SWISSWATCHES are responsible for their own acts and omissions and for the acts and omissions of persons engaged by them, in each case in accordance with applicable law. To the extent permitted by mandatory law, the joint branding or joint organisation of the Masterclass shall not by itself create joint and several liability of one organiser for obligations, acts or omissions of the other organiser. Mandatory statutory liability, including liability under applicable data protection law, remains unaffected.

10.4 LEICA and SWISSWATCHES do not assume custody of cameras, watches or other personal belongings unless expressly confirmed in writing. Participants remain responsible for supervising their personal belongings. Any liability of LEICA or SWISSWATCHES remains governed by this clause 10.

10.5 LEICA and SWISSWATCHES are not responsible for technical malfunctions of networks, telephone lines, computer systems, servers, providers, mobile phones, computer equipment, e-mail systems, submitted application forms or other technical systems, whether or not connected with the application process.

10.6 Participants are responsible for ensuring that they meet all travel, health, identification, insurance, age or other requirements necessary to attend the Masterclass.

11. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

11.1 These Conditions are subject to German law.

11.2 Any disputes arising in connection with these Conditions, the application process or the Masterclass shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts.

11.3 If the applicant or participant is a consumer, the statutory place of jurisdiction rules shall apply.
