SIHH 2019: Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Petrol Blue Complete Calendar and Fiftysix Self-Winding
On the Swiss watch fair SIHH 2019 the Geneva luxury watch brand Vacheron Constantin officially extended its 2018 ‘Fiftysix collection’ by two new models. The watches of the collection, which is inspired by a model from 1956, are the more casual designs of the 264-year-old brand. The new models Fiftysix Complete Calendar (Ref. 4000E/000A-B548) and Fiftysix Self-Winding (Ref. 4600E/000A-B487) as well have the petrol blue dial, that was created especially for this collection. The models‘ representant is the British singer Benjamin Clementine, who has already been the face of the collection’s first watches during their presentation in London’s Abbey Road Studios in 2018.

Fiftysix Complete Calendar
Equipped with a self-winding movement, the Fiftysix Complete Calendar (Ref. 4000E/000A-B548)watch displays the date, day and month. It also indicates the moon-phase with an accuracy of 122 years. As well the Calibre 2460 features a stop-seconds system. The sector-type dial is punctuated by a chapter ring with Arabic numerals, a fairly rare occurrence at Vacheron Constantin. This sunburst rim stands out clearly against the opaline, snailed centre. On the integrated crown, dial and the new 22K pink gold oscillating weight, as well as quite discreetly in the lug design the brand’s typical Maltese cross appears.

Fiftysix Self-Winding
In the design of the Fiftysix Self-Winding (Ref. 4600E/000A-B487) Vacheron Constantin as well adapts the 1950’s style to modern standards. The movement, which is visible through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, is equipped with a stop-seconds device enabling very accurate time-setting. Coated with Super-LumiNova the baton-type hands and the white gold hour-markers are clearly visible. The model’s case is made of stainless steel and has a diameter of 40 mm. In the box-type crystal topping the bezel the retro-contemporary style of the ‘Fiftysix collection’ is again taken up.
