W&W 2025: Six New TAG Heuer Carrera Day-Date Models With An In-House Movement
In the world of luxury watchmaking, there are few names as strongly associated with innovation and precision as TAG Heuer. At this year’s Watches & Wonders in Geneva, the brand is once again attracting attention with the new edition of the legendary TAG Heuer Carrera Day-Date. This watch, which has its roots in motorsport, is presented in six exciting new models – including a Carrera Date Twin-Time. They blend tradition and modernity in perfect harmony. What’s more, these models are the first to feature a manufacture movement, the TH31 calibre.
A sturdy case for every occasion
The new TAG Heuer Carrera Day-Date and Carrera Date Twin-Time models impress with a finely brushed and polished stainless-steel case measuring 41 mm in diameter. The steel screw-down sapphire caseback and the domed sapphire crystal at the front with double anti-reflective coating guarantee water resistance up to 100 metres. These technical specifications make the watch both an elegant and robust companion for any occasion. Furthermore, the bezel has been updated to a thinner shape, increasing the dial’s legibility. In addition, a victory wreath is engraved on the caseback, alluding to the model’s motorsport history and symbolising success and accomplishment.
A variety of dials
Each of the six new Carrera models offers a unique dial design that provides a greater depth effect and improved legibility. From a sunray-brushed blue dial to a black grained dial and a smoky red opalescent dial, there is a broad and appealing variety to choose from. One remarkable model is the Carrera Date Twin-Time, which is reminiscent of the golden age of motorsport with its blue-green, sunburst dial and two-tone dial ring in blue-green and silver.
The rhodium-plated or 18K rose-gold-coated indices and hands impart an elegant touch to each watch, complemented by the practical functionality of the day of the week and date display. On the Carrera Day-Date models, the weekday and date display is located at 3 o’clock. The date display of the Carrera Date Twin-Time, on the other hand, is positioned at 6 o’clock. In addition, the second hand of the black-grained model and the GMT hand of the Carrera Date Twin-Time add red details to their respective dials.
At the heart of precision
Inside the TAG Heuer Carrera Day-Date beats the TH31 manufacture movement, which was developed in collaboration with AMT. The TH31-02 calibre is used for the Carrera Day-Date models, while the Carrera Date Twin-Time features the TH31-03 version.
All movements offer an impressive power reserve of 80 hours and are equipped with high-quality finishes. The crest-shaped oscillating weight is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback and emphasises the craftsmanship excellence that characterises the brand.
Comfort and flexibility on the wrist
The variety of strap options reflects the collection’s versatility and offers high wearability. From a calfskin strap with light blue lining for the black fine-grained dial model to a three-row stainless steel bracelet and the iconic stainless steel Carrera H-bracelet with a double folding clasp for the Carrera Date Twin-Time. The stainless steel bracelets’ new easy link change system allows the wearer to adjust the bracelet without tools, further increasing ease of use and flexibility.
Price & availability
The new TAG Heuer Carrera Day-Date models and Carrera Date Twin-Time model will be available from April 2025. Prices vary depending on the model and start at around 3,950 euros for the simpler versions. Meanwhile, the more luxurious models with rose-gold elements are available for around 8,350 euros.
