Although the El Primero Chronograph celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019, Zenith is launching another Revival edition of the original El Primero. Namely, the Zenith Chronomaster Revival ‘Manufacture Edition’ showcases a previously unseen dial – until now.
According to Zenith, a box of old dials from the legendary El Primero A386 was found in the manufacture’s attic. Unexpectedly, this box contained a prototype dial with three subdials in different shades of blue, which never found its way into the market. Now, Zenith is using the long-forgotten dial in the new Manufacture Edition.
The case of the Zenith Chronomaster Revival ‘Manufacture Edition’ is an exact reproduction of the original 1969 A386 case – 38 mm and stainless-steel. Furthermore, the rediscovered dial with subdials in three shades of blue has faceted, Super-LumiNova-coated indices and hands. Furthermore, a tachymeter scale is located around the edge. Additionally, a date display lies between 4 and 5 o’clock, while small seconds are displayed at 6 o’clock.
Notably, the automatic movement El Primero 400 powers the Zenith Chronomaster Revival ‘Manufacture Edition‘, offering a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz), as well as a column wheel chronograph. In addition, it consists of 326 pieces and has a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.
Lastly, the Zenith Chronomaster Revival ‘Manufacture Edition’ is presented on a blue alligator leather strap. The watch can only be purchased on the new Zenith e-commerce platform and at the Zenith Manufacture in Le Locle. Additionally, a reproduction of the vintage dial is included. The watch is priced at 8,300 euros.
